Ramsgate Royal Harbour Fishing and Eating for a Healthy Sea, 10.00am – 4.00pm


Celebrating the fishing industry, locally caught seafood and the diversity of sea life! A variety of stalls, events, exhibits and workshops. Come down to the harbour and find out which fish are sustainable to eat! Other Ramsgate events listed below. Contact: Thanet Coast Project.

The sixth SeaART Exhibition with art inspired by the coast and Kent Coastal Week’s theme showing at local venues including the Belgian Café, Old Ramsgate Town Partnership Office and Visitor Information Centre. The Mighty Mystery at the Belgian Cafe, Ramsgate, 12.00 – 1.30pm

Calling all explorers! Something intriguing has been washed up on Ramsgate Main Sands. Join Detective S. Noop (aka Scandalmongers) and help solve the mystery, but watch out for red herrings! The Peckish Penguins at the Belgian Cafe Ramsgate, 3.00pm – 4.30pm

Percy and Penelope Penguin have travelled all the way from Antarctica to the famous Kingdom of Thanet and they’re hungry. Help the Penguins (aka Scandalmongers) fill their bellies and build a giant penguin nest on the beach. Suitable for 4 - 14s, but must be accompanied. Meet outside the Belgian Café. MON 26 OCTOBER

Cool Seas Roadshow also running see below. Exploring the rocky shore, hunt for marine creatures and discover how they have adapted to this extreme environment. Meet: Reculver Country Park Visitor Centre, Reculver Lane, CT6 6SS. Wellies and/or sturdy footwear required. Free family event. Dogs on leads. The Cool Seas Roadshow is the Marine Conservation Society’s own spectacular initiative, which raises awareness about the importance of our fantastic marine wildlife. Presenter Andy Starbuck introduces his life-size, inflatable whales, dolphins, sharks, turtles, seals and porpoises. Free event, call in any time during the day. Contact: Kent Wildlife Trust.

End of the Line film show at the Palace Cinema Broadstairs, 8pm

£5; £4 members; £3 concessionary: pay on the door. The Inconvenient Truth about the oceans! A film that will change the way you think about seafood! This Thanet Coast Project event is running in association with Thanet Film Society, with a preview of special Thanet Coast Project short films at the start.
